Surveys

Surveys gather feedback through SMS invitations to a mobile web questionnaire. Choose a survey type, prepare the questions and audience, save a draft, then have an owner review and publish it.

Owners and managers can prepare surveys. Owners publish them. Members and guests do not have survey access. See Roles & Access.

SMS Survey includes SMS invitations, a mobile web survey, and an AI insight summary. Rapid Pulse packages include managed invitations, guaranteed completed responses, reminders, and topline counts and percentages.

A survey of your own outreach list describes that responding audience. Do not assume it represents every voter in the jurisdiction, or that every invited voter will respond.

1. Create a draft

Open Surveys in your campaign, choose the type or package, and give the survey a name that identifies its purpose. Prepare the questions and, for SMS Survey, select the voter lists that define your audience.

Saving a draft does not publish it. Managers can prepare the work and hand it to an owner for the final publishing decision.

2. Write the questions

Each survey supports up to 4 questions. The form accepts:

  • Question text of 8–200 characters.
  • 2–6 answer choices per question.
  • Answer labels up to 80 characters.
  • An optional Other response.

Ask one thing per question. Keep choices short and distinct, and avoid wording that suggests a preferred answer. Review the exact wording and answer choices before publishing.

3. Check the audience and reach

For an SMS Survey, select one or more saved voter lists. Voters can overlap across lists; billing reach is based on unique mobile numbers, not the sum of list sizes. Some voters have no usable mobile number, and multiple records can share a number. The reachable audience can therefore be smaller than the voter count.

Review the estimated mobile reach after selecting lists. If it is unexpectedly low, check the list membership and contact coverage before continuing. See Voter Lists and Contact Source Codes.

Rapid Pulse uses a managed sample, so you do not need to supply your own lists. Confirm the selected package’s completed-response target.

4. Review pricing and credits

SMS Survey pricing uses a $100 base fee plus $0.18 per unique mobile number. The first question is included; additional questions add $50 each, up to the four-question limit.

For example, an SMS Survey with 1,000 unique mobile numbers and two questions has an estimated cost of $330: $100 base + $180 mobile reach + $50 for the second question. Review the current amount in the publishing dialog before confirming.

Rapid Pulse packageCompleted-response targetPackage price
Pulse 7575$349
Pulse 150150$649
Pulse 300300$1,199

Rapid Pulse also adds $50 per question after the first. For example, Pulse 75 with two questions totals $399.

The publishing dialog shows the applicable cost breakdown and credit requirements. Use its total for the chosen package and questions. If available credits are insufficient, an owner must resolve the shortfall before publishing.

5. Have an owner publish

Open Publish Survey and review the survey, audience or package, question count, estimated cost, and available credits. Confirm publishing only when those details match the intended survey.

Publishing schedules the survey; it does not mean all invitations have already been sent or that responses are ready. Check the survey’s status after the action completes. If publishing fails, read the error and resolve it before retrying.

6. Review results when available

Return to Surveys and open the survey. Results become available when the report has been published. A scheduled or running status is not a finished report.

Read the completed-response count and question-level results before interpreting percentages. Keep invited numbers, completed responses, and the campaign’s total voter audience separate. Use an insight summary as a way into the results, then review the underlying questions and reported counts.
